Utilizing Image Theater techniques from the Theater of the Oppressed
canon; "Breathe" was conceived and developed as a hip-hop image skit
on environmental issues (globally and locally). It explores the idea that the same forces ( the 1%) that drain our planet of it's natural resources drain our communities of their financial resources rendering them both unable to "Breathe". This piece will include different elements of hip-hop (mc-ing, krumping, turntabilsm, poetry, theater and music) superimposed over urban images.

BET's first-ever HIP-HOP AWARDS show, which taped Sunday, November 12 at Atlanta's historic Fox Theatre, is an electrifying evening of non-stop entertainment celebrating the genre of Hip-Hop music. The thrilling BET HIP-HOP AWARDS show premieres tonight -- Wednesday, November 15 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT on BET.
From the first moments of multi-platinum rappers Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, Young Jeezy and super-producer Lil' Jon's show open with the 2001 hit, "Welcome To Atlanta," to show host Katt Williams' hilarious opening monologue as the "President of the Hip-Hop Nation," the standing-room-only crowd at the Fox was "crunk." Sizzling performances by hip-hop all stars such as three-time BET HIP HOP AWARDS winner T.I., Young Dro, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, The Game, Lil Wayne & Baby and Young Jeezy, as well as appearances by A-list entertainment industry moguls Jay Z, Diddy and Jermaine Dupri punctuated an evening full of historic moments. Atlanta's own DJ Unk shut down the show with a high-powered, dancing-in-the-aisles performance of his red-hot dance hit "Walk It Out."
